NatureTots – An Exceptional Parent and Child Program

NatureTots is an engaging, nurturing Parent & Child class set in the heart of Indian Hill. At NatureTots, toddlers are introduced to their first school experience alongside the comforting presence of a parent or caregiver. Our experienced teacher leads the class in seasonal games and songs, as well as stories and puppetry. Children engage in free play with imagination-inspiring Waldorf toys and tools and participate in teacher-led activities such as bread baking, painting and nature walks. As the children work and play together, the adults engage in and model the “work” for the classroom: helping to prepare the delicious and healthy morning snack, creating toys, making seasonal crafts for the home, as well as taking a part in guided discussions of each session’s class book on parenting and child development.

Meshewa, the historical name of the NatureTots campus, is the Cincinnati Waldorf School’s beautiful satellite campus with inviting indoor classrooms surrounded by acres of private meadows, woodlands, natural play structures, creeks and gardens – all of which are incorporated into the structure of the program.

Experiences in the natural world bring another layer of discoveries and challenges to toddlers as they develop the building blocks for later intellectual growth. NatureTots activities serve as a stepping stone to preschool and help to establish a natural curiosity and rich foundation in both academics and social skill building.

NatureTots is a once weekly program available year-round. Read more about Our Daily Rhythm and its Benefits to You and Your Child.
