She graduated with a BS in Education from Indiana University and enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Karen was introduced to Waldorf Education 27 years ago when she brought her daughter to the first-ever Parent & Child class at CWS. Karen has not left since.

Nicole has been part of the CWS community for 4 years and a faculty member for 2 years.
She graduated with a BS in Psychology from The Ohio State University and a Master's in Counseling from Trinity Theological Seminary.
Nicole enjoys hiking, creating things, sharing in life and activity with her husband and 5 children (4 sons, 1 daughter).
She was drawn to CWS by the invitation to an inspiring and distinct education for her children and to experience the beauty of being in the community here.

Libby has been a part of the CWS community for 18 years and a faculty member for 15 years.
She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Ohio University. She has attended numerous Waldorf administrative trainings including 2016 Leading With Spirit, 2018 Restorative Practices for Schools, 2020-21 AWSNA Leadership Intensive, and annual AWSNA conferences and delegates meetings.
Libby enjoys hiking, reading, and singing karaoke.
She was drawn to CWS when seeking a holistic education for her daughter and is honored to continue to serve this school that has given her family and many others so much beauty and joy.

She graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from Ohio University and an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
Andrea enjoys hiking in the woods, crafting, and reading aloud to children.

Lindsey has been a part of the CWS community as a faculty member for 2 years.
She graduated with a BFA in Theatre & Dance from Northern Kentucky University and enjoys hiking, camping, and dance parties.
Lindsey first discovered Waldorf Education when she and her daughter started the Nature Tots program. She immediately felt at home and inspired in the comforting and creative environment that provides support for both children and caregivers.

Myles has been a CWS faculty member for 4 years.
She graduated with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Criminology from Miami University of Ohio.
She enjoys writing, podcasting, and building her small business.
Myles is a Waldorf "lifer" and attended the San Francisco Waldorf School from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Carmy began working at CWS in the summer of 1986, leading the summer camp program. She began working as an Early Childhood Assistant the following year. She has also worked as the Handwork Teacher for first and second grade, before becoming the lead preschool teacher in the 1993-94 school year.
She graduated with a BS in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cincinnati, received Arcturus Waldorf Teacher Training/presented at CWS, and has attended countless workshops and summer trainings.
Carmy enjoys drawing, painting, nature study, the study of botany, gardening with a focus on native plant restoration, and hiking.
A friend introduced Carmy to Waldorf education during her senior year in college. She has been hooked ever since!
Kyle has been a part of the CWS community as a faculty member for 20 years.
She graduated with a BFA in dance performance and a BS in education from The Ohio State University. She completed her Waldorf Grades Teacher Training at the WTDA of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
She enjoys knitting, crocheting, crafting, and gardening.
She was introduced to Waldorf Education through two beautiful children who attended her dance classes. Miss Kyle picked them up one day from their school (yes, it was a Waldorf school!) and immediately felt a connection to the beauty, goodness, and spirit she felt in the people and building.
Bari has been a part of the CWS community as a parent for 17 years and as a faculty member for 13.
She holds a Birth to Seven Waldorf Early Childhood Certification from Sophia's Hearth in Keene, NH, a BS in Design from University of Cincinnati, DAAP, and a BA in History from University of Cincinnati.
Bari loves to read, take walks, and play her ukulele while singing.
She came to CWS as a parent with her daughter, Anna, and started as a Kindergarten Assistant a few years later.
Mona has been a member of the CWS community as a faculty member since 2021.
She attended two years of college in Denmark and enjoys outdoor activities, creativity, and humanitarian activities.
Mona's mother was looking for a school better suited for her which led her to start at a Waldorf school in 5th grade in Denmark. Mona's admiration for Waldorf Education has only grown since then.
Chris has been a CWS faculty member for 27 years.
She received a Masters in Education and Waldorf Certification from Antioch, an MPH in community development from University of Pittsburgh, and a BS in Human Development from Penn State University.
Chris enjoys yoga, swimming, hiking.
She loves Waldorf education because of the attention it gives to children who need more hands-on learning.
Jessica has been a part of the CWS community for one year.
She has a bachelors degree in design from the University of Cincinnati. She has completed her Introduction to Early Childhood education at Sunbridge Institute and is currently planning to begin full teacher training in the summer of 2021.
Jessica loves to go hiking with her husband, three children, and dog. She will be spending a lot of time working in her garden this year and studying biodynamic gardening and beekeeping. She also practices yoga regularly.
Her children first inspired her interest in Waldorf education, but her love of learning, seeking connection to nature, and deep belief in child development have influenced her path.
ROSE BLOSSOM KINDERGARTEN ASSISTANT
Barbara has been a part of the CWS community for 6 years.
She has a BFA with an emphasis in painting and attended Foundations studies in 2016 and 2020.
Barbara is most likely found gardening and watching her city chickens, constructing her home, and hosting parties.
After 7 years at a large independent school she wanted something smaller with a more holistic approach. She found that CWS brought the art and nature she craved with an opportunity to re-imagine and grow the After Care program. Ms. Barbara loves leading After Care!
GRADE ONE LEAD
Sonya has been a part of the CWS community for 15 years.
She graduated with a Master's in Education from Antioch University and enjoys dancing, hiking, and art.
Sonya discovered Waldorf Education when she was studying for her undergraduate degree at Warren Wilson College. Many of her friends there were former Waldorf students and inspired her to become a Waldorf teacher.
GRADE THREE LEAD
April has been a part of the CWS community for 9 years.
She graduated with a Master's of Design from the University of Cincinnati School of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning and Waldorf Certification in Educational Support from the Association for Healing Education.
April enjoys storytelling, songwriting, and Irish music.
She found Waldorf Education through her daughter Mia's journey. She knew there was something here for her too.
GRADE SEVEN LEAD
Alex has been a faculty member for 9 years.
He graduated with a BA in Spanish & Linguistics from Ohio University and received his Waldorf Grades Teaching Certification from the Rudolf Steiner College.
Alex enjoys astronomy, photography, and traveling.
He began at CWS as a substitute Spanish teacher during the 2010-2011 school year. After a year of teaching English as a Foreign Language in South Korea, he returned and was hired in 2012 as the full-time Spanish teacher for grades 1-8. After an 8-year cycle of developing the Spanish program, he then stepped in to become the class teacher for the CWS Class of 2022.
GRADE EIGHT LEAD
Kate has been a part of the CWS community for 9 years.
She has a Masters of Education from Mount Mary University and Waldorf Teaching Certification from Great Lakes Waldorf Teacher Training.
Kate enjoys snowboarding, kayaking, and community volunteer work.
She discovered Waldorf through her undergraduate studies in education.
STUDENT SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Nick has been a part of the CWS community as a parent for 1 year and as a faculty member for 3.
He graduated with a BA from The University of Dayton, a Master's in Education from The University of Cincinnati, and his Waldorf Extra Lesson training is ongoing.
Nick enjoys hiking with his dog Isla, flying & taking pictures with his drone, and exploring new parts of Cincinnati with his two daughters (Nora 4, Lucille 6 months) and his wife.
He has worked in many schools, centers, and programs. Waldorf speaks to who he is as a person and the ideals and values he holds for himself and his children. Student Support has been a role that he always found himself drawn to and allows for him to connect with both student and parents on a daily basis.
Katherine has been a part of the CWS for 21 years in total, and as a faculty member for 13 years.
She has a HS diploma with specialization in viola performance from the NC School of the Arts; a BA in Elementary Education from Wake Forest University and received her Waldorf Music Certification from Sunbridge Institue.
Katherine enjoys biking, gardening, and discovering donuts, ice cream and candy shops.
She was introduced to CWS through Parents and Tots as a fun place to learn to knit and make toys.
Lee has been a CWS faculty member for 3 years.
He has a Bachelor's in Music from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati.
Lee enjoys reading, traveling, and Star Wars lore!
He was drawn to CWS by everything from the amazing teachers and administration that keep the school running smoothly, the individual child-focused mindset and philosophy, and the multitude of different worthwhile skills that are taught at a young age.
PRACTICAL ARTS & HANDWORK
Lydia has been a part of the CWS community for about 30 years.
She has a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Cincinnati and received her class teacher certification from WTDA (Waldorf Teacher Development Association, now WISM).
Lydia enjoys reading, yoga, and talking with friends.
She encountered CWS through some children she took care of who were students in the early childhood program back in 1990. She was seeking work that could incorporate her love for and experience with visual arts, languages, music, drama, children, and Waldorf checked every box!
Sarah has been a CWS faculty member for 3 years.
She began Eurythmy training at Eurythmy Spring Valley and received her BA in Eurythmy from the University College of Eurythmy in Norway, She completed early childhood teacher training at Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene.
Sarah enjoys knitting, reading, and art.
Sarah attended the City of Lakes Waldorf School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After enjoying acting and dance in high school, she was looking for a career that had aspects of theater and dance but also community and rediscovered Eurythmy.
Jen has been a part of the CWS community for 4 years.
She has a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Horticulture from Colorado State University.
Jen enjoys being in nature, cooking, and being creative.
Witnessing the Waldorf curriculum with her son brought Jen to CWS. She first experienced Waldorf education in Nature Tots with him and fell in love.
Emily has been a part of the CWS community for 10 years.
She has a BFA in Applied Arts, Handwork Teacher Training from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Fiber Craft Studio training from Sunbridge Institute.
Emily loves handwork, making art, and learning about other languages and cultures.
Adam has been a CWS faculty member for 9 years.
He graduated with a BM in Piano Performance from CCM, and received his Waldorf Elementary Teacher Certification (with a Concentration in Music) from Sunbridge Institute.
He enjoys composing music, studying anthroposophy, and making rhythms with his hands.
He was introduced to CWS by Connie Michael, long-time CWS Eurythmy teacher, who brought him in to be the pianist for the Eurythmy program.
ART & WOODWORK
Luke has been a member of the CWS community for 29 years.
He has a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Cincinnati and has done additional Waldorf teacher trainings at the Rudolf Steiner College summer program in Waterville, Maine, Foundation Studies at the Cincinnati Waldorf School, Center for Anthroposophy Renewal program in Wilton,NH, and Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training summer program in El Sobrante, CA.
He enjoys sand volleyball, travel, and construction projects.
In 1991, his then girlfriend (now spouse) was providing childcare for a Waldorf family. Together they attended events and festivals and began to volunteer and learn about the unique child development model and teaching philosophy.
GAMES & ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Joe has been a part of the CWS community for 8 years.
He graduated with a BA in Communications from Thomas More College and enjoys games, being outdoors, and traveling.
Joe visited Cincinnati Waldorf School when his daughters were in pre-school and he knew it was the right fit. The students were all so open, happy, and engaged and the environment was warm and beautiful. He couldn't wait to be a part of the community and get involved.
SCIENCE & MATH
Chris has been a CWS faculty member for one year.
He has a PhD in Physics & Master of Physics (UAB), and a Bachelor of Physics and Astronomy (UGA).
He enjoys woodworking (furniture, knicknacks, and doodads), video games, and Dungeons and Dragons.
He was particularly drawn to the Waldorf emphasis on the integration of art and skills to the subjects taught; in short, a hands-on approach to education. This has been shown to increase student focus, reinforce concepts & techniques, and increase student interest in the material! What's not to love about that?
Jess has been a part of the CWS community for 7 years.
She has a AAS from the Art Institute of Chicago and a BBA from Western Governors University.
She enjoys hiking, camping, and traveling.
Her biggest attraction to Waldorf education is the hands-on approach to teaching that allows students to learn by doing at an appropriate developmental time for each individual.
Kendra has been a CWS faculty member for 3 years.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Cincinnati College of Arts & Sciences.
Her three favorite hobbies are hammocking, swimming, and napping.
Her connection to Jess Bressler is initially what brought her to Waldorf. Her experience as a Grades Assistant is what made her stay.
Tatum has been a CWS faculty member for 3 years and a CWS parent for 1 year.
She has a BS in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from NKU. She completed the Waldorf High School Teacher Education Program through the Center for Anthroposophy.
Tatum enjoys running, cooking, and reading.
Tatum is an alum of CWS. After having a child of her own she realized the importance of Waldorf education for all grades. It inspired her to get involved in the upper grades to help create the High School.
HISTORY & FINE ARTS
Tori has been a member of the CWS community for 5 years.
She has a BFA in Painting with a Certificate in East Asian Studies from Ohio University and received her CFA Waldorf High School Teacher Training Certificate in 2021.
Tori enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
What brought Tori to Waldorf Education was her love of teaching, and finally feeling like she found the right education style and community to begin her career as a teacher.
