High School Humanities Teacher
Kirsten became a CWS parent in 2013 and joined the faculty in 2014 holding a variety of roles but most noteworthy being the first CWHS teacher that was hired!
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Theatre with an English minor at Northwestern University in 1989; a Masters Degree in Communication Education (Rhetorical Studies) at The University of Iowa in 1994; a grade 7-12 Teaching Certification at The University of Iowa; Certification from the Sunbridge Institute High School Summer Program; three years of Waldorf Foundation Studies in Vermont and Cincinnati from 2011-13; and numerous Waldorf renewal courses. Kirsten loves dancing, gardening (with bee keeping) and traveling.
"We chose Waldorf for our own family for its focus on outdoor education, with arts integrated in the curriculum and its in-depth approach to subject matter. We loved the element of the school that embraced and respected the whole child rather than schools that focus so intently on intellect only."
