Early Childhood

Ms. Carmy began working at CWS in the summer of 1986, leading the summer camp program. She became an Early Childhood Assistant the following year. She has also worked as the Handwork Teacher for first and second grade, before becoming the Lead Preschool Teacher in the 1993-94 school year.

She graduated with a BS in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cincinnati in 1982, received Arcturus Waldorf Teacher Training in 1987 and has attended countless workshops and summer trainings all over the world including Forest Kindergarten Training at Sunbridge College in 2015.

Ms. Carmy is an amateur naturalist, native plant lore and gardener. She enjoys drawing and all types of handwork too. A friend introduced Ms. Carmy to Waldorf education during her senior year in college. She was 100% intrigued and impressed, and her journey to learn more started in that very moment!
