Caroline Harwood

Oak Tree Kindergarten Lead Teacher

This is Caroline's first year at Cincinnati Waldorf School.

She graduated with a Master's in elementary education from DePaul University, studied at Arcturus in Chicago and the Center for Anthroposophy in New Hampshire.

Caroline enjoys knitting, cycling, and playing with her dog.

Caroline found Waldorf education at a time when she was realizing that none of the things she learned in grad school were being implemented in public schools. The studies being released all supported integrating arts, music, movement, and nature, but none of that was happening. When Caroline saw a job opening at the Chicago Waldorf School, she started looking into the pedagogy and thought that this was what education should be. When she was hired and her understanding deepened to see that Waldorf Schools also hold the spiritual and developmental needs of every single member of the community, Caroline knew that this was what life should be. The work that we do with our students and with one another fills her soul and makes her feel complete.
