NATURETOTS PARENT & CHILD PROGRAM
Led by Ms. Kyle, NatureTots is designed to introduce young children to their first school experience alongside the comforting presence of a parent or caregiver. Our experienced teacher leads the class in seasonal games and songs, as well as stories and puppetry. Children engage in free play with imagination-inspiring Waldorf toys and tools and participate in teacher-led activities such as bread baking, crafts and nature walks. As the children work and play together, the adults engage in and model the “work” for the classroom: helping to prepare the delicious and healthy morning snack, creating toys, making seasonal crafts for the home, as well as taking a part in guided discussions of each session’s class book on parenting and child development. Classes are offered once weekly from 9:00am to 11:00am, and on Mondays and Fridays from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
For children 16 months to 3 years of age and their parents or caregivers, these weekly classes are a stepping stone to our Preschool and Kindergarten classes. Our Parent & Child programs provide an opportunity for young children and their parents or caregivers to come together in a joyful and nurturing environment where children are introduced to their first school experience.
