ALL ARE WELCOME in the CWS Community Room
The CWS Community Room is located across from Ms. Kyle's NatureTots room and adjacent to the CWS gym. There's a large table and chairs, a couch, toys and a play area for littles, and a coffee and tea station. And we want you to know that you are always welcome in the Community Room! Need to kill a few minutes before NatureTots or pickup? Looking for a space to chat with another parent? The Community Room is there for you!
A big thank you to Casey Gries for our beautiful new sign to let you know you're in the right place! Weekly meetings will also be listed on the sign so you'll know what's happening in the Community Room each week. The only requirement for using the Community Room is to clean up after yourself and your children 🧹 We hope to see you there!
Please Fill Out the CWS Business Survey
A group of committed parents and faculty members are hard at work trying to grow our sponsorship program to recruit more community support for CWS! Your responses to this survey can help us provide valuable information to potential sponsors and help guide our outreach efforts.
Please answer any or all of the questions here. Your responses will remain confidential. Thank you for supporting CWS!
Costume Day for Grades 1-8 Thursday 10/26
This year our students have the option to dress up for Halloween! The teachers have invited students (and families!) to dress up for Halloween on Thursday, October 26th according to themes selected by their teachers. See below for your student's theme.
Dia de Los Muertos Celebration Friday 11/3
The Language and Culture Committee would like to invite CWS families to join in our second annual El Día de Los Muertos celebration. This Latin American tradition of life and death is traditionally celebrated from October 31st- November 2nd each year. In many countries in Latin America and in many parts of the United States, home altars called ofrendas are made to celebrate loved ones who have died. In Guatemala, kites called barriletes are made and flown to honor the dead.
So, please join us for this joyous after school celebration. Parents and friends are invited to pick up their student at the regular dismissal time at the end of the school day and make their way to the Dia de Los Muertos celebration located in the Lower School Bowl.
Join Us for Lantern Walk 11/10
The CWS Lantern Walk is coming up! This event, intended for students in preschool through Grade 3 and their families, is a reverent celebration of kindness and inner light. It will take place on Friday, November 10th at 6pm in the Lower School Bowl.
If you want to practice the songs we will all be singing, check out our CWS Community Song Book and/or join Mr. Petersen for Community Singing on Fridays at 8:30am in the Community Room!
Student Council Canned Food Drive for MEAC!
Please donate in date cans of hearty soups, canned chili, canned spaghetti, canned fruits and vegetables for our friends at MEAC (Madisonville Education Assistance Center).
CWHS Student Council and our middle school SAC (Social Action Committee) are collecting food for MEAC's food pantry. CWHS juniors and seniors will take our first collection over and volunteer some hours on Oct 25, and we will continue to collect for another delivery closer to winter break.
We all thank you for your donations!
