CWS Walk-A-Thon! 👟

Tuesday, October 28, 2025

CONGRATULATIONS 4th GRADE! Class of 2034 was the first to reach their class-goal of $3,000! Join us tomorrow to see who they pick to send to the dunk tank!

Our first annual CWS Walk-A-Thon is TOMORROW! This year, all funds raised will go directly toward our Annual Fund, helping us reach our $45,000 goal for the school year. (We’re currently at $19,218 — 42% of our goal!)

The Walk-a-thon TIMELINE:

1:10 PM – Recess ends, students use restroom, change into costumes, grab water bottles 1:15 PM – Suggested arrival time for families (parking might be challenging due to parking lot work - see email from Mr. Simpson below for full details).

1:30 PM – All-school Pep Rally and Dunk Tank in bowl

2:00 PM – Walk-A-Thon rules announced

2:05 PM – Walk/Run begins (staggered start)

2:50 PM – Bell rings, Walk-A-Thon ends

3:00–3:30 PM – Volunteer cleanup and dismissal

4:00-8:00 PM - Chipotle Fundraiser!

The Walk-A-Thon is a fun and active way for students to support their school. Each child is encouraged to ask friends, family, and neighbors to sponsor them for their participation in the event.

Ways to Raise Support:

  • Share about the Walk-A-Thon with friends, family, or neighbors this upcoming weekend — every bit helps!

  • Ask local businesses you frequent (coffee shop, yoga studio, favorite restaurant) if they’d like to sponsor your child or make a small donation in honor of the class.

  • Share the Walk-A-Thon on social media or in a family group chat with the donation link. It’s an easy way for loved ones to contribute from afar!

We also need volunteers to help the day run smoothly. Click here to sign up

CWS relies on the support of our community to fulfill our mission. All donations are tax-deductible and directly support our teachers, classrooms, and campus maintenance,  helping our school continue to thrive.

HERE IS THE LINK TO USE TO COLLECT SPONSORSHIPS! https://givebutter.com/CWS

Thank you for walking, giving, and growing with us!

A Note from Mr. Dexter Simpson

Subject: Parking Lot Renovations

"I want to give everyone the good news. The Village of Mariemont plans to renovate the parking lot next to our school. The work will be done during our Teacher Conferences next Wednesday through Friday, October 29-31. It will be resurfaced and re-striped. In order for it to go smoothly, I have a couple requests.

Please use street parking during your conferences. The faculty have been asked to park further from the school to allow you, our parents, to park closer to the building.

Secondly, the entrance apron will not be available on Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday next week. The parking lot will still be usable those days. We just cannot drive through the entrance after Monday morning drop-off. All of us will need to enter and exit the parking lot using the exit those days. Additional staff will be on hand to help it run smoothly and safely.

Lantern Walk - November 7th ✨

Families of children in NatureTots through 3rd Grade are invited to join us for Lantern Walk, a beloved tradition at the Cincinnati Waldorf School. Older siblings are welcome to attend, but parents should be prepared to supervise all children in attendance to preserve the reverent nature of this event. Full event details will be emailed to families soon.

It's helpful if families come prepared to sing during our walk! Fortunately, our Cincinnati Waldorf Singers have recorded our Lantern Walk songs so that you can listen and learn in advance of this event- listen HERE.

Colder days are here!

The weather is changing which brings gorgeous fall colors and cooler temperatures.  With this change in season, please make sure your child is coming to school with the following...

  • Appropriate clothing as we are still enjoying the outdoors

  • Gear for wet weather, like boots and rain coats

  • An extra change of clothes in case clothes get wet

  • Cough drops (the office has a very limited supply)

Student Parking

This year, our Administration and Faculty have designated a few parking spaces (in the back corner closest to the cemetery) for our High School students who drive themselves. We appreciate our more 'seasoned' drivers leaving these spaces open so that HS students can have a bit less stress on their morning commutes, knowing they will have a place to park. Our High School drivers, and their parents and teachers, appreciate your support!
