Please Note: No Left Turn Into Carline from Chestnut Street

Overall, our traffic flow and safety protocols during drop-off and pick-up have drastically improved! Thank you for your support and cooperation.
The one remaining issue is that cars continue to turn left into carline from Chestnut Street. This essentially amounts to "cutting the line" and should not be done. Please join the line at the end and make a right turn into the parking lot during drop-off and pick-up. Line jumping is not a sport 😂
The best option is to go out to Wooster, rather than trying to proceed down Chestnut and making another left turn into carline from Edith.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your help!

New Lead Teachers in our Early Childhood Department
Ali Rosenthal - Woodland Preschool

Ali (known to the children as Ms. Rose) came to CWS three years ago, following her work within the Pennsylvania Bureau of Child and Family Services. After enrolling her oldest child in first grade, she quickly fell in love with the Waldorf approach and the vibrant CWS community. This connection led her to the early childhood classrooms where she has spent the past several years supporting young children and receiving Waldorf training as an assistant teacher. Ali is honored to step into the role of lead teacher in the Woodland Preschool classroom next fall. She is excited to continue nurturing the natural wonder, joy, and curiosity the young children bring to each day.
Outside of the classroom, Ali is mother to three boys—all of whom are now students at Cincinnati Waldorf School! She cherishes time spent with her family foraging in nature or watching baseball together. In quieter times she enjoys reading fantasy novels and listening to her growing record collection.
A fun fact about Ali: She is deeply passionate about food cultivation and herbalism. She finds joy in gathering friends and loved ones around nourishing, home-cooked meals as a way to foster connection and build community.
Sara Miller - Willow Tree Kindergarten

CWS has been on the cusp of opening a third mixed-age kindergarten class for quite a few years and we’re happy to announce that enrollment has increased to the point that it’s finally happening next school year. We are even happier that Sara Miller will be the lead teacher of our new Willow Tree Kindergarten class!
Sara joined the CWS community in 2024 as an assistant and substitute teacher supporting the early childhood, grade school, and high school programs while completing her doctorate in education at the University of Cincinnati. Sara's research on teaching with compassion inspired her to further explore Waldorf education this school year. She has worked for more than a decade in the field of early childhood education across the city of Cincinnati as a teacher, social worker, parenting coach, and professor! Sara earned a Bachelor's degree in Child Development from Miami University, a Master’s degree in Educational Research and Child Study from the University of Cincinnati, and she will graduate in May with a Doctorate in Education. This summer she will also begin an Early Childhood Waldorf Teacher Certification Program.
Outside of the classroom, Sara loves to hike with her two retired racing greyhounds - Richard and Minnie! She also loves to camp, sing, garden, watch classic movies, and hula hoop. One fun thing about Sara and her husband, Jack, is that they travel the world to help animals! They have cared for elephants in Thailand, protected sea turtle nests in Costa Rica, rescued dogs in Spain, and rehabilitated donkeys in Aruba. Where will they go next?
Saren Wozniak - Afternoon First Grade Readiness Class

Saren came to CWS two years ago after graduating from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development. She has been our First Grade Assistant both years as well as subbing in kindergarten classes when needed. She is much loved by students, teachers, and parents alike! Next year she will spend her afternoons with our full day kindergarten class of rising first graders, keeping them busy with activities designed to build stamina and academic readiness. Her mornings will continue to be spent assisting in the grade school.
Saren grew up in Portland, Oregon and has a deep love of wild blackberries, moss, and hiking to waterfalls. She loves reading, playing guitar and singing, whitewater rafting, and cooking with her husband, Nick.
More fun facts about Saren:
She spends most of her evenings going on walks, bike rides, picnics, or playing pickleball.
Saren moved to Cincinnati two years ago from Southeastern Idaho and has loved Ohio and the community here.
This summer she plans to hike throughout Oregon with her family and go rafting in New River Gorge with friends.
Please join us in welcoming these dynamic teachers to their new positions at CWS!
Courtyard & Garden Project: Volunteers Wanted!

This past week CWS students and faculty have been working together to transform and beautify the courtyard into a play space for Early Childhood. Part of this endeavor is moving all of the gravel from the courtyard to the community garden at Ann Becker. We have been having classes fill the buckets and then load the buckets onto a trailer which Ms. Nicole has been driving back and forth. Classes walk over to the garden during the school day to then empty those buckets. The little ones enjoy spreading the gravel out. Its been a hoot!

If you would like to help us with this project, please drop into the front office — and we will put you to work 🙌
