Wintergarden

As we head toward the shortest days of the year, we join with Waldorf schools around the world to honor the light that shines within each member of our community.  To celebrate that inner light, each class will be participating in a Spiral Walk that allows them to reflect on their own bright gifts and those of their classmates.

The students will walk, one at a time, to the center of a spiral of greenery, which holds a single candle.  They will light their own individual candle and place it along the edges of the spiral as they wind their way back out to their seat.  As each child walks, the room becomes brighter.  By the end of the walk, the spiral is aglow with the light of that class.

**In order to allow each child to be fully present during their walk and during the walks of their peers, parents who attend agree to watch in silence and refrain from using cell phones or taking pictures during this reverent and meditative event.
