This year, we’re excited to add a new opportunity: students in 1st–12th grade can register to participate in a 5K, led by Ms. Wang’s CWS Running Club. The 5K will take place at the same time as the Walk-A-Thon and will follow a route off campus. The registration details for the 5K are outlined below.
The Walk-A-Thon + 5K is our largest student-led fundraiser, bringing our community together to build school spirit while raising vital funds. Each student is asked to raise $125, helping us reach our collective goal of $26,625.
For online donations, please visit Cincinnati Waldorf School Walk-A-Thon + 5K. Detailed instructions for online donations using Givebutter are included below. Check and cash donations can be placed in the collection envelope your student has received. Please bring all contributions to the Front Office by Monday, October 19th.
Funds raised will directly support Outdoor Learning Spaces at Cincinnati Waldorf School, helping create beautiful, engaging places where students can learn, play, explore, and connect with nature every day.
Tuition covers approximately 85% of the actual costs required to operate our school, and we rely on the generosity of our community to help close this gap. Cincinnati Waldorf School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 31-0846773), and donations are 100% tax-deductible.
All students from Sunrise Kindergarten through 12th grade will take part in this fundraiser, and all families are welcome to attend, walk, run, cheer, and celebrate with us! The Pep Rally will include a welcome, sponsor and community recognition, relay races, a Spirit Squad performance, and a DUNK TANK!
The first two classes that reach their class goal will have a chance to DUNK A TEACHER at the dunk tank at the Pep Rally! All classes that reach their class goal will have a pizza party on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

2. DONATE!

Once you open the class link, click the “donate” button in the upper right, enter the amount you’d like to donate and the Grade/Class that the donation should be credited for.

Include a personalized message with your donation! For example: “Go 10th Grade!” or “Finish strong, Emma! Love, Grammy” This will appear on the donor wall. Your donation can also be made anonymously.

Enter your preferred payment method and hit the “finish” button to complete the donation.

Please place cash and check donations in your child’s collection envelope and drop off at the front office. The Development Director will transfer these donations to Givebutter.
3. GET CREATIVE!

Asking 5 people to donate $25 will help your child’s class team meet its goal! (Each class goal is based on $125 per student in the class).

Fundraising ideas: bake sale, car wash, craft sale, lemonade stand, lawn mowing, leaf raking, any anything else your child dreams up!

Don’t forget to include your child’s Class Givebutter Link so donations can be made directly to your child’s Class Team’s fundraising page.

WALK-A-THON + 5K FAQ
Who can attend the Walk-A-Thon + 5K?
Everyone is welcome to join on Friday, October 23, 2026 to move with their child’s class! This extends to friends and family.
How do I register my student for the 5K?

Students in 4th–12th grade may register and participate independently while staying with their designated pace group. Parents are responsible for registering their student(s) online before October 14.

Students in 1st–3rd grade may register and participate in the 5K only if their parent or guardian walks or runs with them for the entire route. Parents are responsible for registering their student(s) online before October 14.

The 5K registration fee is $25 per student. Parents/guardians accompanying a 1st–3rd grade student do not need to pay the registration fee.

Sunrise Kindergarten students will not participate in the 5K. They will enjoy their own Walk-A-Thon route in The Bowl, along with games and challenges led by Ms. Saren. Families are warmly invited and encouraged to join them!

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 14, 2026 in order to receive swag bag. On-Site registration will be accepted.
What time does the Walk-A-Thon + 5K start?
EVENT SCHEDULE for all students in Sunrise Kindergarten through 12th Grade
1:25 PM — Families arrive and find seats in The Bowl at CWS
1:40 PM — Pep Rally begins
2:15 PM — Walk-A-Thon + 5K begin
3:00 PM — Dismissal begins for students
How will the students get to the 5K?
The route for the 5K will be shared with the parents and students who register in advance. The students and parents participating in the 5K will start their race in The Bowl at CWS.
What will students in Preschool and Half Day Kindergarten do on the day of the fundraiser?
Students in Preschool and Half Day Kindergarten will have their regular school day with no changes to their schedule or rhythms. They will not be participating in the Walk-A-Thon + 5K.
Can I volunteer to help with the fundraiser?
Yes! 30 Volunteers are needed on the day of the Walk-A-Thon + 5K at the CWS Campus and along the 5K route. Volunteer sign-ups will be sent out via email within the next week.
