Tuesday, October 28th - 1:30pm - CWS Campus

We are so excited to announce a new initiative to build funds — and community — for our school: the 2025 CWS Walk-a-Thon!

GRADES AND HIGH SCHOOL: This will take place on Tuesday, October 28th. All students in Grades 1-12 will participate in a pep rally at 1:15pm (hosted by our brand new Spirit Squad!) and will then embark on the walking/running route at 1:30pm to meet class (and individual) mile/step goals. Sunrise Kindergarten will participate in a mini-lap inside the bowl. Students are invited to bring their Halloween costumes to school on Tuesday, October 28th and change into them for the pep rally and Walk-a-thon!

EARLY CHILDHOOD: We encourage you to bring your children at 1:15pm and join the fun by participating in a mini-lap inside the bowl!

A form with a QR code will be given to every student. This QR Code form is also available at the end of this letter. Students can go to their families, friends and neighbors and ask for pledges. Pledges can be donated by scanning the QR code and donating to the student’s team (GiveButter.com).

Families are encouraged to enjoy dinner at Chipotle on Wooster after the event (4pm-8pm). Mention that you are with CWS, and Chipotle will donate 25% of the proceeds to CWS!

This is an exciting opportunity to build school spirit; it is also an important way for students and families to help raise essential funds for CWS.

Class Goal: $3,000

All classes who reach 100% class participation will enjoy a pizza party for lunch on Monday, November 3rd.
All classes who reach the class goal of $3,000 will enjoy a sweet treat with their lunch on Monday, November 3rd.
The class to reach their class goal of $3,000 first will get to Dunk-a-Teacher in the Dunk Booth before we walk!

CWS relies on community support to fulfill our mission. Donations to the CWS Walk-a-Thon are tax deductible and help meet our areas of greatest need including teacher support and training and building maintenance and repair. Thank you for your support and good luck, Teams!

How To Donate

CWS is utilizing GiveButter, a free online fundraising platform, to collect donations for the 2025 Walk-a-Thon! Each student has a QR code for our campaign. You can use this QR code to request donations from friends, neighbors, and family members.

Once you scan the QR code or click this link to GiveButter, click the “donate” button.
Enter your amount, and pick the “team” (class) you’d like your donation to count toward. Then, click continue.
Include the student’s name who asked you to donate, and a personalized message with your donation! For example: “Go 1st Grade!” or “Finish strong Suzie! Love, Grammy” This will appear on the donor wall. Your donation can also be made anonymously.
Enter your preferred payment method and hit the “finish” button to complete the donation. (GiveButter asks for “tips” to help cover the cost of using this platform - this is not required!)

Route

Start at the top of the bowl (near preschool playground).

A “lap”:

going down the sidewalk toward Plainville
turning right on the sidewalk toward Wooster
turning right onto the sidewalk parallel to Wooster
turning toward the stone bridge, crossing the bridge
going up the hill to the “start.”
One lap equals ⅓ of a mile. 3 laps equals a mile.

Come to Chipotle on Wooster after the Walk-a-thon (4pm-8pm) and mention that you are with CWS. Chipotle will donate 25% of the proceeds to CWS!
