Clue: High School Edition

Congratulations to our senior class of 2026 on a wonderful performance! You have one more chance to see whodunit!

Monday, December 15th - 1:30pm

CWS Gym - Free to all!

Content Advisory

Clue: High School Edition includes comedic murder-mystery elements, mild slapstick violence, references to weapons, and light innuendo. Nothing graphic or explicit is shown. The show is intended for teen audiences, but parental discretion is advised.

Winter Garden - December 17, 18 & 19

Winter Garden is an austere festival experience in which each child travels individually into the center of a dark spiral to receive light, which they then carry again outward into the world. Parents are welcome to attend your child/ren's Winter Garden walk.

Please meet in the CWS Community Room 10-15 minutes before your student’s time slot, and you will be ushered into the gymnasium from there. Early childhood families will attend Winter Garden in the Eurythmy room on the second floor.

In order to maintain the reverence of this event and to avoid the children feeling overly performative during their walk, please refrain from using cell phones. Drinks and light refreshments will be available in the Community Room if you'd like to arrive early or spend time in community after your child's Winter Garden walk.

We will also host a Community/Alumni Walk on the evening of Wednesday, December 17th from 5-6 PM in the gym. CWS families, current and former, are welcome to join us to walk the spiral together!

A note from Mr. Dexter...

Tell me if you know the feeling. You are in the school car line to drop off your children. It is 8:22 according to the radio. Your car has been creeping along for only 3 minutes and you have enough time to make it to work. The lunch is packed. The winter gear is on. All you need to do is to pull into the parking lot so your children can hop out of the car and wave goodbye, just as long as Mr. Thomas keeps everyone moving in the front. BUT…

ree

Here comes Mr. Blue Toyota from the east on Chestnut Street! Right in front of the traffic sign explaining not to do it, Mr. Blue Toyota skips the entire car line and turns LEFT into the parking lot. You have been waiting patiently. Who does he think he is? It happens right in front of you! Then Mrs. Green Subaru bolts into the lot, followed by Mr. White Pickup. They all skip the car line as if you, and all the other vehicles, have not been waiting to go. Now it is 8:27. You start to panic. Why are they doing this? Don’t they know they are making you late?

Every minute counts in the morning. Please remember to be patient and to be kind in the car line. Do not turn left into the parking lot in the morning, 7:00-9:00 am, and in the afternoon, 2:00-4:00 pm.

THANK YOU!

"Thank You" to our community for your support of Holiday Faire - attending the event, volunteering your time and contributing financially. We love our CWS community!

Strategic Plan Work Continues

Last year, out school named five strategic plan goals:

1. Educate the Whole Child–Provide a comprehensive education that includes outdoor activities, a love for the earth, and a focus on the whole child. Prioritize culture and community building as part of the educational experience.

2. Support Faculty and Resources–Ensure faculty have the resources they need to do their job effectively. Foster career growth for young men and women and support their professional development.

3. Engage the Community–Build and maintain strong relations with the community, including parents, faculty, and students. Support and foster a diverse community and build connections where needed.

4. Embrace Technology–Use technology efficiently to support the Waldorf mission and help provide focus. Ensure children are prepared to operate effectively in the modern world while maintaining a connection to the earth and community.

5. Financial Stability–Maintain a budget in the black and ensure financial stability for the organization

With these five goals in hand, we are empowering a Strategic Plan Committee, comprised of parents/board members (Amie Duncan, Mark Evans, Josh Dorsey), teaching faculty (Stacy Gaston, Edith Fay, Tori Manship), and administrators (Dexter Simpson, Cat Toth, Kate Kelley). They will take these goals and create some action steps, dreams for our school in the future and how we plan to reach them. Please reach out to any of us if you have some thoughts to add to this vision.
