Highlights from the Week:

Check out our latest blog post to learn more about the annual Senior Trip to Maine.

High School Mandarin: As part of their study of the Chinese dynasties, students presented about the unique robes worn by the emperors and empresses. Students also learned to play Mahjiang, a traditional game play with strategy, skill and luck along with Chinese characters

Spanish: Students have had lots of fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. They made corn cob dolls, tamales, and tortillas and took turns grinding corn!

7th Grade Physics: Students studied the first two laws of physics in an experiential way by using wire hangers and various balls to create a device that they balanced on their heads. They observed what happened with these devices as they moved around the room, spun in circles, and traded with friends to try different ones. This allowed them to experience the relationship between mass, inertia, and momentum!

Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition, the latest film in the award-winning Screenagers series, addresses many issues that elementary school-aged kids, parents, and educators are facing.

The film blends real-world examples and expert advice with the latest research and solutions for parents and educators, making it an essential watch for everyone looking to address and support mental wellbeing in the digital age.

The PA is grateful to MadTree Brewing for hosting this event, to Everyschool for partnering to provide support and resources for this event, and to Wait Until 8th for facilitating this screening opportunity.

This screening is FREE and open to the public, but please reserve your ticket now as space is limited. We hope to see you there!

***Important School Safety Announcement***

Each year the State of Ohio requires all schools to update and submit to the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) an Emergency Operation Plan. This year the ODE has created the Safer Ohio School Tip Line (844-723-3764). All Ohio schools are required to share this information with parents, students and faculty. Information about the official ODE tip line can be found on page 41 of the Revised CWS Family Handbook (Sept. 2024 Version). Please review so that you are familiar.

Additionally, students, faculty and parents can find a poster hanging in the CWS front office with the tip line phone number as well.
